Costco’s Kirkland Signature Cashew Clusters are a classic Costco snack, and they are gluten-free!

Costco has many great products, but it can difficult to determine what is and is not gluten free. I researched over 40 different Kirkland Signature nuts and snacks and spoke with Costco customer service to determine which products are actually gluten-free.

Which Costco Kirkland Signature Nuts and Snacks are gluten-free?

All Costco Kirkland Signature nuts and snacks are gluten free as long as a) they are labeled gluten-free or b) they don’t have gluten-containing ingredients and don’t specify that they’re processed on equipment that also processes wheat. Kirkland Signature products are clearly labeled with allergen information, so reading the label will help identify what is gluten-free.

When I spoke with Costco customer service on the phone, they confirmed that if a Kirkland Signature nut or snack product doesn’t have gluten-containing ingredients and doesn’t specify that it was processed on equipment that processes wheat then that product is considered gluten-free.

In the lists below of Kirkland Signature Nuts and Snacks that are gluten-free, you’ll see 3 different types of labeling that indicate a product is gluten-free.

  • No gluten-containing ingredients – There is no label on the product indicating that that the product is gluten-free, but it doesn’t have any gluten-containing ingredients and the product doesn’t indicate that it was processed on equipment that also packages products that contain gluten (wheat).
  • Labeled gluten-free – The product is labeled as gluten-free by the manufacture. The manufacture is attesting that their products meets the FDA’s gluten-free labeling requirement of having less than 20 ppm (parts per million) gluten.
  • Certified gluten-free – The product has been certified by a third party to be gluten-free. Kirkland Signature has products certified gluten-free by Beyond Celiac and by the GFCO (Gluten-Free Certification Organization).
